What you’ll be doing...

This role is a senior-level position on the National Consumer Unit Communications team. The individual in this role will lead communications strategy and execution centered on Verizon’s Consumer Value Proposition, driving narratives that highlight how our plans, promotions and perks differentiate Verizon in a highly competitive market. You will be responsible for defining, driving, and defending our consumer narrative and ecosystem through agile storytelling that turns our offerings into compelling, coverage-driving narratives, defending market share and positioning our portfolio as the superior choice. As a critical link across the organization, you will ensure all communications initiatives are cohesive, impactful, and strategically aligned across the business

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading strategy and execution of strategic, high-profile consumer moments that deepen customer relationships and elevate Verizon as a customer-first brand.

  • Translating consumer insights and market trends into compelling narratives and story angles that resonate with target audiences and position Verizon as an industry leader.

  • Driving media strategy and execution for reaching target press that amplifies key moments and reinforces Verizon’s leadership.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with influential audiences, including journalists, social influencers, external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders.

  • Providing strategic counsel to executives and other cross-functional teams to shape brand narrative.

  • Managing agency partners to create and execute plans that drive business results.

  • Helping protect the Verizon brand by identifying and mitigating reputational risk.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience working on complex launches.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects. simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering consistently high-quality work.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with the press.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A background in consumer products, tech or marketing.

  • Strong relationships with reporters.

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,500.00 - $201,000.00.
