What you'll be doing...
The TPD Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting Verizon. You will partner with Network Planning, Engineering and Operations teams to create an Artificial Intelligence roadmap as well as work closely with a team of data scientists, big data engineers, and software developers to implement and deliver use cases. An ideal candidate will have technical expertise in data science and experience with implementation of AI in commercial applications. They will also possess excellent communication and strategic thinking skills above and beyond the technical knowledge and commercial application experience required.
You will be responsible for:
  • Applied Analytics & Modeling: Steering the use of applied analytics and creation of models that drive network cost efficiency, network customer experience improvements, network performance optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Data Mining & Quality: Data mining and extracting usable insights from valuable data sources and validating data quality
  • Exploratory Data Analysis: Performing exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
  • OKR & KPI Metrics: Identifying OKRs and KPIs for use cases that allow for continuous test & measurement of the economic impact of models in production
  • Business Strategic Alignment: Partnering with the business to ensure our organization's strategy is aligned and supportive of wider business unit strategic goals
  • Cross-Functional Modeling: Collaborating closely across business partners, EA and TCC to build predictive and prescriptive models for specific problems within the network domain that will require integration with the business processes to drive value
  • Executive Presentations: Presenting results and recommendations to senior management and business users

What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Expertise in Python, Spark, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets using AI/ML techniques is critical.
  • Experience with developing and deploying machine learning models to production.
  • Experience in building scoring models, anomaly detection solutions is preferable.
  • Experience in the network domain (or) have a learning mindset to go deeper into the network domain relevant to the problemc.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics, engineering, computer science, or another technical and/or financial discipline.
  • Experience with large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Knowledge of data warehouse and data lake technology (Teradata, Hadoop, No SQL, graph DB).
  • Knowledge and experience applying AI/ML or analytical models (e.g.: Numpy, Scikit-Learn, Dataproc, Jupyter Notebook, Facebook Prophet, XGBoost, Regressions, Classification, etc.).
  • Network expertise, with understanding of 4G/5G Technologies, IP Networking, RF/SP engineering tools / principles
  • Technical knowledge of improving system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability of the network

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.
