Job description

We are Christian - a community of students, parents, teachers, and administrators with a shared vision of creating a biblically-grounded foundation for students to stand on throughout their lives impacting the world for the glory of God.
Veritas Christian Academy educates students in a Christ-centered atmosphere by discipling students toward academic, artistic, and athletic excellence. We partner with mission-minded families to integrate Christian faith and academic learning for their children from preschool through 12th grade.
As Veritas Christian Academy pursues its mission, fulfills its purpose, and lives out its vision, the following values will be reflected in the behavior and character of the community: authentically Christian, pursuing truth, unity in Christ, redemptive relationships, and servant discipleship.
Primary Duties
Maintains, as fully as, possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
Teaches lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher.
Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the building secretary.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated as assigned by the building secretary.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Remains at school during the entire school day unless excused by the building secretary.
Implements all rules, regulations, and policies of VCA.
Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students.
Deliver group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines provided by the teacher.
Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
This is a part-time position that would require the employee to fill in for teachers as a substitute teacher, as needed.
