Position Summary

The V&V Engineer I will utilize experience to lead and execute formal verification and/or validation planning and testing for our our DEXIS software. Projects include a broad range of dental imaging software products with hardware interfaces and associated support software. The candidate will work closely within a core team of Software, Hardware and V&V Engineers dedicated to the development and continuous improvement of products.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs verification testing, tracks and reports on progress, documents incidents found, ensure test completion, reviews results, and generates reports.

  • Performs testing on various Windows software programs and hardware devices developed by the company.

  • Communicates with Engineering to identify root causes of test failures, evaluate mitigations and re-test new versions.

  • Tests software/hardware integration of dental imaging x-ray equipment.

  • Tests cloud based IoT telemetry, installation, and software updates.

  • Troubleshoots custom Windows applications (installation, permissions, services, conflicts, general inner workings of Windows).

  • Configures, updates, manages, and re-images Windows based computers and Virtual Machines used for testing.

  • Develops, reviews and executes test cases and procedures.

  • Participates in the planning and lead the execution of verification testing activities in support of assigned projects.

  • Coordinates with other Verification Engineers on assigned tasks.

  • Works closely with all engineering disciplines and RA/QA personnel.

  • Assists with development of test systems, environments, and fixtures.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or similar technical field OR 2+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies (ex. software testing)
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications and identify root causes of defects.
  • Comfortable managing priorities and timelines.
  • Detail-orientated with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to track testing progress and ensure completion
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS environments
  • Must be able to work on-site 4 days per week with one day remote.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing verification test cases, procedures, plans, analyzing test results, and writing reports.
  • Experience on setting up computer workstations and deploying software onto target systems and/or virtual machines.
  • Experience in system-level verification testing in a regulated industry; experience in a medical device industry (21 CFR Part 820.30, ISO13485) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Device/FDA Regulated Industry and compliance with IEC-60601, 62304, ISO14971, IEC 62366, EU MDR preferred.
  • Experience with requirements management (including technical content reviews), design reviews, test reviews, and change control activities.
  • Experience using Requirements, Test Case and Incident Management tools (e.g. - Jama, DOORS, JIRA).
  • Hands-on experience with designing, building, and maintaining test fixtures and/or working with external laboratories to perform testing.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
