Job description

SUMMARY          Loads, unloads and moves material within or near plant, yard or work site by performing the following duties in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                

Move parts and materials required for production into, within and out of assigned area.

Safe driving habits and safety awareness of others while conforming to Ventra’s forklift operation procedure for the Angola facility.

Unload / organize steel coils with an overhead crane.

Perform operational and/or safety checks on equipment as required.

Dispose of all scrap/trash during or at the end of shift.

Locate and set up material racks for production in a safe and timely manner.

Inspect and tag defective material racks.

Load and unload trucks of material.

Sweep and clean department as required.

Ability to separate “good” from non-conforming material racks.

Pack and/or prepare parts for shipment.

Safely change propane tanks and recharge batteries per safe handling procedures.

Verify counts and maintain applicable records.

Must be able to stack, load and haul loads in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsible for keeping work area clean and free of unneeded materials.

Ability to work any scheduled overtime as needed.

Ability to function effectively in a team environment.

Perform various other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE   

A high school diploma or GED.  Prior manufacturing experience is desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS      Ability to understand and follow job related instructions.  Ability to communicate effectively with required contacts.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS         Must have basic math skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS                 Ventra Angola, LLC Forklift and Crane Operation License.
