Sales – Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)

Productivity, Inc. is a premier distributor of CNC machine tools and related tooling and accessories—delivering metalworking equipment, tooling, accessories, specialty products, MRO, safety equipment, technical assistance, and advanced inventory management solutions.

In this business development role, you’ll partner with our customers across a multi-state territory to demonstrate the value of our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and industrial vending programs. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their production needs, streamline their supply chain, and help them achieve greater efficiency, control, and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to reach and exceed VMI business goals.
  • Engage with prospects to identify pain points and deliver tailored VMI solutions.
  • Collaborate with Tooling Sales and Sales Management to identify and grow customer opportunities.
  • Play an active role in onboarding and implementing new VMI and vending programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with multiple contacts within each customer organization.
  • Ensure superior customer service and account retention.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure service levels meet and exceed expectations.
  • Perform other duties as required to support customer success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside or industrial sales experience with a strong record of account acquisition, retention, and growth.
  • Experience in industrial distribution, MRO supply, or supply chain management preferred.
  • Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and/or industrial vending experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Located in Colorado or Utah, with regular travel throughout the assigned region.
