Maintenance Technician
Compensation: $25-$35/hour DOE | Hourly, Level H3
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
Epicurean Butter is seeking a skilled and independent Maintenance Technician to keep our food production equipment and facility systems running at peak performance. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment once trained.
Experience working on food production or packaging equipment is strongly preferred, as this position is critical to ensuring the safety of our product, efficiency, and reliability of our operations. Departmental and personnel collaboration is key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food production and packaging equipment as well as facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
  • Support and improve the preventive maintenance program with technical recommendations.
  • Lead or assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Execute work orders independently, ensuring cost-effective and timely completion.
  • Proactively identify safety or operational concerns and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance activities.
  • Uphold company policies regarding GMPs, food safety, tool control, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with production, QA, and leadership teams while providing technical insight.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of:
  • Commercial electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Facility maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, utilities) preferred not required
  • Food production machinery - conveyors, pumps, World Cup, Vemag, Universal Pack systems. (Preferable)
  • The ability and desire to learn new things
  • Perform while adhering to Food-safe procedures and sanitation requirements

Ability to:
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
  • Work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks with minimal supervision once trained
  • Apply strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Remain dependable, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced production setting
  • Demonstrate empathy, adaptability, patience, and problem-solving mindset
Preferred Experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance or equipment repair experience.
  • Prior experience maintaining food production or food packaging equipment (preferred, not required).
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and industrial safety standards.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills is a plus.
