Vehicle Up Fitter Jobs (NOW HIRING)

AWCT is hiring several Yard Casuals - This is a casual (part time) night position as needed. This position is 100% outdoors driving/moving the new vehicles around our yard. We require a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and you must be able to pass a drug test and background check. The pay range for this position is $31.01 + $.25 night differential per hour. AWCT pays weekly and we are an amazing family company! SummaryJob requirements include Yard moves which could include moves from Plant Release Gate to yard bays, pull vehicles from yard bays to load lines for haul-away carriers. Yard movement also could include up-fitter move functions which include recognizing up-fitter dealer codes, drive units to and from up-fitters, and inspect units before and after delivery or movement.  Essential Duties and TasksDrive vehicles to and from specified locations in the yard or to local up-fitters.Make certain all vehicles are parked in proper locations and bayed correctly. Understand and apply all AWCT, customer, AAR, safety and quality standards/policies.Follow all safety guidelines to guarantee the job is done in a safe manner.Identify vehicles and insert documentation as required.Inform managers of any issues that could affect production or quality standards.Log processed work into computer programs or tracking system as required.Meet or exceed established production and quality standards.Read and match VIN numbers quickly and accurately to ensure movement of proper vehicles.Read, compare and understand work orders, repair orders, purchase orders, purge sheets, and other documents to complete work.Visually verify and inspect vehicles for damage.Keep work areas, vans, appropriate work attire, etc. clean and neat.Notify supervision of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions immediately upon discovery.Attend monthly safety meetings.Report accidents and injuries immediately and follow up with the completion of the appropriate forms.Other duties as assigned. Minimum RequirementsAbility to adhere to strict production and quality standards without varianceAbility to push or pull 15 poundsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions (often extreme) for long periodsAbility to stand for up to 10 hours or more per shiftAbility to step into and out of vehicle driver's door with minimal door opening clearanceAbility to use specific company technology equipment to assist in job dutiesAbility to function effectively under pressureAbility to communicate with others effectively; work as a team; good interpersonal skillsAbility to judge distancesMust have the ability to maintain a good sense of balanceAbility to keep confidential any work documents seen or conversations heard during performance of job dutiesAbility to pass Driver's Safety Test quiz with 80% or betterAbility to read and match numbers quickly and accuratelyAbility to differentiate between colors for vehicle identificationAbility to read and understand location cards and work ordersAbility to read and understand SDSAbility to write, read, and comprehend basic EnglishAbility to drive standard and automatic automobilesAbility to follow directions, both written and verbalMust have a valid driver's license; good driving record with the ability to maintain the sameMust pass AWCT pre-placement background clearances including pre-employment drug screening, HPE/POET physical demand testingHigh School Diploma and/or GEDGood and regular attendanceGood visual ability and auditory abilityPositively represent AWCTStrong attention to detail DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
