Job description

This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The Operations Assistant is an entry support level individual contributor that supports administrative and secretarial needs for different groups of our operations teams. Assistant typically is a first point of contact for the area and works with a team of other assistants to provide support/service. Assignments may differ by area.

Required:
Familiar with computers and MS office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
 

Preferred:
Returned missionary,
Fluency in a second language 
MTC experience
1 year of office experience 
0 years of leadership experience

Reports to supervisor or manager level in any MTC department
May include a combination of the following:
Answers both internal and external phone calls and directs to appropriate department as necessary
Corresponds and works with MTC employees and ecclesiastical staff, MTC and church departments, missionaries, and general        public 
Greets, welcomes, and provides directions for MTC official visitors and visiting public
Communicates MTC standards, protocols and policies to missionaries and visiting personnel
Oversees inventory of various things (keys, missionary materials, office supplies, mtc vehicles, etc.) and orders supplies as              needed
Assists missionaries (check in, materials, schedules, travel arrangements, legal documents, emergencies, etc.)
Receives, packages and ships materials for missionaries
Organizes and reviews missionary information/items in preparation for arrival to MTC or departure from MTC and arrival at            mission
Facilitates travel arrangements and itineraries for missionaries
Tracks important missionary information
Assists in making adjustments for missionary schedule/travel changes
May be assigned additional lead responsibilities:
Assists in the interviewing, hiring and training of new team members
Assists in team trainings and implementation of new policies/practices
Assists in evaluating processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
