Job description

Description:Position Summary

Assists the Fleet Program Coordinator in management of the OST vehicle fleet of GSA and DOE owned vehicles located in Albuquerque, NM. This includes tracking usage, collecting monthly mileage reports, completing maintenance/repairs/modifications as required, acting as secondary point of contact for all GSA fleet matters.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Collect usage data for all OST-owned non-operational vehicles.
  2. Identify periodic maintenance requirements for GSA vehicles including: maintaining vehicle cleanliness, ensuring periodic maintenance is completed, identifying maintenance requirements, and completing basic vehicle maintenance (wipers, fueling, fluids, etc.).
  3. Assist in the development, monitoring and maintenance compliance for company and DOT compliance.
  4. Assist in the management of the OST Albuquerque Headquarters vehicle pool of non-operation vehicles assigned for administrative support which includes: personnel movements, vehicle movements, scheduling, and recovering vehicles.
  5. Assists the control and accountability of credit cards issued to DOE owned vehicles in the Headquarters vehicle pool. Notifies the Fleet Coordinator of lost, damaged or compromised GSA vehicle credit cards and license plates.
  6. Maintain applicable vehicle data and records in spreadsheets, and VPMS Electronic Accountability Systems, as appropriate.
  7. Act as secondary Property Custodian for operational and non-operational vehicles assigned to Headquarters.
  8. Assist Fleet Coordinatorโ€™s management of OSTโ€™s license (โ€œEโ€) plate program cradle to grave, to include storing, assigning to vehicles, providing accountability of all plates, tracking throughout the vehiclesโ€™ life cycle, and ensuring proper disposal.
  9. Performs other assigned OST logistical duties as required to meet operational support requirements as directed by the Fleet coordinator. Cross train in OST property operations in order to assist OST Property Specialists.
  10. Ensure that integrated safety management principles are applied to all duties. Perform all activities and tasks in a safe, ergonomically, and healthful manner.
  11. Serve customers (external and internal) by focusing on quality as it relates to the customer; understanding, anticipating and satisfying customer needs and expectations; responding expeditiously to customersโ€™ questions, requests and concerns.
  12. Contribute to a team effort by focusing on mission, goals, and objectives; accomplishing tasks and assignments in a professional and timely manner; keeping appropriate team members informed regarding the status of tasks and assignments; establishing and maintaining professional working relationships; working amicably, cooperatively, and productively with team members, assisting others as needed, and accomplishing other duties and tasks as assigned or as necessity dictates.
  13. When approved by the Program Manager, provide support to offsite and local training activities to include supporting road-blocks and serving as an exercise role-player.
Requirements:Position Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Qualification

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience in a related vehicle management position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. A working knowledge of PCโ€™s and related MS programs and office equipment. (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate DOE security clearance.
  3. Working knowledge of federal and DOE orders and regulations related to management of government vehicles.
  4. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and interact with federal and contractor personnel.
  5. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the work schedule.
  6. Ability to travel for fleet and other OST business. (Motor vehicle, Aircraft)
  7. Ability to obtain licenses and certifications to operate commercial motor vehicles and any specialized equipment in the support of OST program requirements. (CDL preferred)
Working Conditions

Work may be performed in an office, warehouse, or classroom setting or outdoors. Worker may be exposed to dust, fumes, loud noises and the environment.


Physical Demands

Work involves much standing or walking. Some kneeling or bending involved. When in the office, work is sedentary, which requires sitting most of the time. Driving long distances up to Six hours. Work will involve some moderate lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling.
