Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work with complex vehicle electrical systems, embedded controls, CAN/LIN architectures, model-based design, and test bench integration — using the same engineering disciplines applied across modern off-road platforms. You'll apply your automotive experience to an advanced, tactical vehicle program while working in a hybrid environment with cutting edge tools such as Vector CANoe, Simulink, and system level test benches.

This position is contingent upon award news expected Summer of 2026

Work primarily from the Detroit/Pontiac/Auburn Hills region with periodic onsite build and integration events at customer locations.

Note: This position is hybrid remote, with a preference on local support to the Auburn Hills, MI area. There is also remote potential with periodic travel for the right candidate.

JOB DUTIES:

Performs systems engineering and electronic architecture development for tactical vehicle platforms, focusing on advanced power systems, embedded control, and full vehicle system integration.

To include: Designing automotive electrical harnessing, Integrating ECUs and embedded modules, running functional tests similar to OEM validation, creating system‑level documentation, supporting prototype build events, troubleshooting vehicle electrical and electronic issues.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience. Experience can be from any of the following engineering disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Systems Engineering.
  • Ideal for candidates with experience in automotive electrical systems, embedded systems, power systems, infotainment, or diagnostics systems.
  • Experience in automotive HIL/SIL test environments strongly translates to success in this role.
  • Automotive Electrical System Design, Vector CANoe, Mathlab Simulink.
  • Preferred skills: coding with CAPL and C#.  
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government program requirements.
  • No clearance requirement.
