JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior VDC Engineer is responsible for providing project teams with VDC/BIM technical leadership. This role works closely with project teams to deliver high-quality VDC services while mentoring VDC Engineers and ensuring deliverables meet project standards. The Senior VDC Engineer serves as a technical expert and begins developing client-facing communication skills.

 

SALARY RANGE: $93,000 - $135,000 annually

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and produce 3D models for system quantity takeoff.
  • Report quantities from 3D models.
  • Produce and update fabrication level of detail models of metal framing for coordination.
  • Produce dimensioned shop drawings of metal framing.
  • Produce and update fabrication level of detail models of concrete.
  • Produce detailed work packages for concrete.
  • Produce 3D Model Deliverables based on reality capture data.
  • Produce 3D Model Deliverables as specified by project BIM Execution Plan.
  • Visualize phase schedules using 3D models.
  • Manage and produce deliverables for the 3D Construction Coordination process.
  • Establish and coach Construction Coordination process.
  • Coordinate with Operations staff to define tasks, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with Design teams to identify project risks and collaborate on resolutions.
  • Review and validate work produced by VDC Engineers.
  • Ensure deliverables meet project standards and BIM Execution Plan requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical guidance to VDC Engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Architectural or Engineering Degree plus 4+ years of experience in a professional environment.
  • 5+ years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk products including Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated expertise in 3D coordination, model production, and BIM workflows.
  • Working knowledge of construction industry workflows, production cycles, and priorities.
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Eager to support staff with positive attitude, passion, and patience.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff on technical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on VDC tools and processes.
