Job description

ABOUT RETELL AI
Retell AI is using first-principles thinking to reimagine the call center with cutting-edge voice AI. Thousands of companies now use Retell's AI voice agents to handle sales, support, and logistics calls that once required large teams of human agents. Backed by Y Combinator, Alt Capital, and other leading investors, we've scaled to $80M in ARR with a team of 50, up from $5M at the start of 2025, and are now valued at over $1.5B.
Our vision for 2026 is to build a modern CX platform where entire contact centers are powered by AI. Instead of basic automation that needs constant human tuning, we're creating intelligent AI "workers" that act as frontline agents, QA analysts, and managers, continuously executing, monitoring, and improving every customer interaction.
We're growing fast and looking for ambitious builders who want to tackle hard technical problems, move quickly, and have a real impact on one of the fastest-growing voice AI companies in the world.
Let's build the future together.
Recent recognition:
  • No. 1 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area, San Francisco Business Times 2026
  • Top 50 AI Apps, a16z (2025)
  • #3 Fastest-Growing Software Company, G2 Best Software Awards 2026
  • Best Agentic AI Software, G2 Best Software Awards 2026
  • #4 Fastest-Growing Software Vendor, Brex Benchmark 2025
  • Enterprise Tech 30 Class of 2026, Nasdaq & Wing VC
  • Top-Ranked Startup, Lean AI Leaderboard
  • Backed by Y Combinator

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Deployments Consultant, you'll work directly with customers to help them turn AI use cases into real, production-ready voice agents. You'll sit at the intersection of technology, consulting, and execution, helping customers understand what's possible, define the right solution, and get it working in the real world.
You'll lead customer engagements from discovery through launch, working closely with customer operators and technical teams as well as Retell's Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
This is a highly hands-on role. You'll be expected to understand the customer's business, solve ambiguous problems, build and test solutions, and keep projects moving. The goal isn't just to make a deployment work - it's to make sure the customer gets real value from it.
If you enjoy working with customers, solving difficult problems, and turning messy requirements into something that actually works, this is a great role for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead customer deployments from initial discovery through production launch.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, pain points, and business goals.
  • Translate customer requirements into practical AI workflows and implementation plans.
  • Build and configure voice AI agents, conversation flows, and automation workflows.
  • Help customers integrate Retell with their existing systems, APIs, and business processes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across integrations, APIs, webhooks, telephony, authentication, and production deployments.
  • Run customer working sessions, demos, technical discussions, and implementation reviews.
  • Work closely with Sales during discovery, solution design, and customer evaluations.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to resolve customer issues and communicate product gaps.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and keep deployments moving toward launch.
  • Help customers test, iterate, and optimize their agents before and after production.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Retell into additional use cases and teams.
  • Capture learnings from deployments and turn them into repeatable playbooks and best practices.
  • Become a subject matter expert in Retell's platform, voice AI, and best practices for deploying AI agents.
YOU MIGHT THRIVE IF YOU
  • Have strong communication skills and enjoy working directly with customers.
  • Can quickly understand a customer's business and translate their needs into practical solutions.
  • Enjoy solving technical problems and are comfortable getting hands-on when things break.
  • Have experience in consulting, solutions engineering, deployment, implementation, customer success engineering, product management, or another customer-facing technical role.
  • Are comfortable working with APIs, technical integrations, and software systems.
  • Can explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Are highly organized and can manage multiple customer projects at once.
  • Thrive in ambiguous environments and are comfortable figuring things out as you go.
  • Have strong ownership and follow problems through until they're solved.
  • Are excited about AI, LLMs, and voice technology.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-moving startup where priorities can change quickly.
  • Like being close to customers and seeing the direct impact of what you build.
  • Are comfortable traveling when needed for important customer launches and onsite engagements.
