• HashiCorp Vault/ AWS Secrets Management/ Azure Key Vault experience - The client mainly works in HashiCorp but is open to candidates who have used similar Vault/Secrets tools.

• 5 to 7 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications (front-end and back-end development)

• 5+ years with Python and proficiency with FastAPI

• 5+ years with Restful web services

Description

· Writes, tests, and documents technical work products (e.g., code, scripts, processes) according to organizational standards and practices

· Devotes time to raising the quality and craftsmanship of products and systems

· Conducts root cause analysis to identify domain level problems and prescribes action items to mitigate

· Designs self-contained systems within a team's domain, and leads implementations of significant capabilities in existing systems

· Coaches team members in the execution of techniques to improve reliability, resiliency, security, and performance

· Decomposes intricate and interconnected designs into implementations that can be effectively built and maintained by less experienced engineers

· Anticipates trouble areas in systems under development and guides the team in instrumentation practices to ensure observability and supportability

· Defines test suites and instrumentation that ensures targets for latency and availability are being consistently met in production

· Leads through example by prioritizing the closure of open vulnerabilities

Call With Hiring Manager

1- Top skills would be 70% developer skills and rest will be familiar (not focused) on Hashi Corp vault and maybe a little bit with other vault solutions like Azure Key Vault, Amazon's version of that, etc. Will also look at the potential of the candidate rather than 100% match.

2- Coding/Scripting is mainly Python, and want somone familiar with infrastructure on how that is run. Some experience with Hashicorp vault is good to have but not needing someone who is an expert. Experience in application onboarding integrations is helpful.

Success between 6-12 months would be ideally they will start to feel comfortable in the client environment and likely take some of the small tasks from other developers to work independently. This role is a developer in security management with some automation. They would onboard and automate some processes meaning they develop new features and functionalities in the environment so the customer can minimize their time for these tasks. This is similar to a DevSec Engineer. They would also like a little bit of java on the front end if they have that. Most of this will be back-end work but front end could be helpful from time to time.

2 to 5 years in development is fine, The client values candidates who are passionate about this type of work and are a good culture fit for the team.

3- Fine with someone who has the other vault skills. Others on the team didn't have hashicorp experience in the past but got up to speed quickly.

4 -Everyone on the team is collaborative. They replace I with We in this team. Culture is important.

5- They work with the public infrastructure digital certificates (PKI). Will implement this with PKI hashicorp and automate it.

6 - Developer skills, good potential to learn hashicorp if they have other vault experience, good team culture fit (we before I).

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
