Job description

Pharmacist

Pharmacists perform the day to day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing. Perform therapeutic intervention as needed, drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, the maintenance of patient profiles, attendance at cardio-pulmonary emergencies, drug therapy monitoring, and drug compounding. The Staff Pharmacist is also responsible for directing technicians, performing inventory control, and actively precepting pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns as assigned by the supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy
  • Must have current knowledge of drug references, specialty pharmacy accreditation (URAC, ACHC, etc.) requirements, and other regulatory standards
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
  • CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient's medical management plan

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MTM experience
  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist Certificate
  • Accreditation related Patient Management Program experience
  • Ability to operate Willow Ambulatory (WAM) computer system to process and verify prescriptions
