Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) - I to join our team in the Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA area.

In this role, you will provide critical day-to-day security support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities supporting SSC and AFSPC mission areas.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and update AIS accreditation packages and Body of Evidence documentation.
  • Perform AIS self-inspections, conduct security surveys, and provide security review of system test plans.
  • Identify AIS vulnerabilities, implement countermeasures, and track inspection responses.
  • Maintain AIS security records, system baselines, and Co-Utilization Agreements for network nodes.
  • Ensure AIS and network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of per security policies.
  • Assist Department of Defense and contractor organizations with certification and accreditation efforts.
  • Conduct and track AIS security training for organizational personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of related experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of Special Access Program (SAP) related experience.
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for information Assurance Technician Level 2 within 6 months of the date of hire (i.e., Security Plus CE, CCNA-Security; CySA+)
  • Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Completion of training on Joint Security Implementation Guidance (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ICDs, JAFANs, DoD Manuals, and associated security policy documents.
  • Experience working effectively in dynamic environments with DoD, military, civilian, and industry partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Clearance Requirements

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be eligible for access to Special Access Programs.
  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements

  • This position is full-time on-site (0730 -1630) at Vandenberg Space Force.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility via air and ground.
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods in closed-area offices.
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside and outside the office to access files, cabinets, safes, and install or remove computer-related equipment.
