RWB is the preferred source for high-end pistons, engine blocks, cylinder heads, intake manifolds, connecting rods, crankshafts, clutches, transmissions, springs and other engine and driveline- related performance components.


PAC Racing Springs is seeking a driven, hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on solving complex manufacturing challenges and developing world-class spring production processes. This is a unique opportunity to become a technical expert in CNC spring coiling technology, spring materials, tooling, and advanced manufacturing processes that support high-performance engine valve springs and valvetrain components. 


Responsibilities (what you will do):

  • Become a subject matter expert in CNC spring coiling equipment, spring manufacturing processes, wire materials, tooling systems, setup methodologies, and production technologies. 
  • Learn and master the programming, setup, and optimization of CNC spring coiling machines. 
  • Develop expertise in pitch control, diameter control, end geometry, wire positioning, and spring stability. 
  • Optimize machine parameters including feed rates, spindle speeds, point positioning, arbor configurations, and pitch tool settings. 
  • Design, develop, and refine coiling tooling including points, guides, arbors, pitch tools, quills, cutters, and fixtures. 
  • Analyze wire characteristics including tensile strength, surface condition, cast, helix, lubrication, and dimensional consistency. 
  • Establish process windows that ensure consistent spring geometry and production repeatability. 
  • Lead process validation, capability studies, and production launches. 
  • Troubleshoot machine performance, tooling wear, process variation, and quality issues. 
  • Implement automated inspection, in-process monitoring, and data collection systems. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Manage manufacturing projects from concept through implementation.
  • Train and work with operators to implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. 
  • 3-8 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a precision manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving and process improvement skills. 
  • Experience in production environments and precision manufacturing. 
  • CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) experience
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC spring coiling, wire forming, or cold forming equipment. 
  • Understanding of servo-controlled machinery and CNC programming principles. 
  • Knowledge of spring design fundamentals and spring manufacturing processes. 
  • Experience with SPC, process capability studies, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma. 
  • Experience with tooling design and fixture development.
