Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Valve Technician. If you have a love of meeting people and providing great customer service, coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you!

Hours: 8AM - 4:30PM, Overtime Requirements as work demands, Some Weekend

Pay: Starts at $25 an hour but could be more based on experience

Responsibilities

As a Valve Technician, you will be responsible for the following, including, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for assembly of all automated packages
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures for valve automation including maintaining a safe and organized workspace and observing necessary safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of product
  • Follow all proper procedures for set up, use and maintenance of tools, and equipment in the automation center
  • Courteous interaction and communication with inside and outside sales, management, and warehouse personnel
  • Professional interaction with customers when addressing questions and concerns about automated packages
  • Troubleshoot automated packages, in house and in the field, to perform necessary work and repairs
  • Assist with developing automated valve sales training program
  • Perform functional automated valve testing, record, and store data
  • Work closely with inspectors to meet customer demands
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% is required. Travel may include overnight stays for field service projects and support at other Ferguson locations.
  • Maybe responsible forproviding driver duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 3 to 5 years experience is preferred but not required
  • Valve & actuator industrial experience highly preferred
  • Mustbe at least 18 years old.
  • Validstate issuedlicense isrequired.
  • Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics
  • Ability to multi-task and meet order deadlines
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control
  • Be goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines, build relationships, and enjoy a team atmosphere
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • A self-motivator and have an ambition to succeed
  • Enthusiastic, courteous, and articulate
  • Ability to learn quickly
