What types of projects or assignments can I expect during a valuation internship?

During a Valuation Internship, you can expect to work on projects such as financial statement analysis, building and updating valuation models, conducting industry and market research, and assisting in the preparation of client presentations or reports. Interns often collaborate closely with analysts, associates, and senior team members to support client engagements. You may also be asked to gather data on comparable companies and recent transactions, helping to build the foundation for valuation conclusions. This hands-on experience provides valuable exposure to real-world valuation methodologies and the opportunity to develop technical and analytical skills in a professional environment.

To thrive as a Valuation Intern, you need a solid grounding in finance, accounting, and quantitative analysis, typically supported by progress toward a relevant degree such as finance, economics, or accounting. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills set outstanding interns apart. These competencies enable accurate valuation analyses, clear reporting, and valuable contributions to client or internal projects.
