Job description

We're looking for an experienced Acquisition Analysts to our rapidly growing team. This position will play an integral role in the acquisition process through evaluating, prioritizing and valuing SFR properties for purchase through various channels. As an Acquisition Analyst you will work closely with, and learn from, our experienced and respected senior management team, with the opportunity to work on new business initiatives across operating segments.ย 

This position will be based in our downtown Dallas offices, and we will consider a hybrid work schedule.

The Role:ย ย  This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluate opportunities for the acquisition of SFR properties through various sourcing channels e.g., MLS, portfolios, foreclosures and off-market
  • Prioritize and accurately perform asset level valuations on multiple potential properties on any given day
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and scale underwriting metrics and end to end process from bids through close as well as holistic results relative to Investor mandates. Work with the Sr. Director to implement potential efficiencies though improved workflows, deploying technology etc.
  • Travel to markets (estimate monthly trips) to build local knowledge and allow for enhanced investment/valuation decisions
  • Provide information to assist in the build out of proprietary tech platform processes
  • Prepare and present investment memorandums and reporting
  • Monitor real estate trends, research market characteristics and prepare market analysis with direction from acquisition management
  • Build relationships internally and externally to drive business forward
  • Work collaboratively across functions to execute initial underwriting
  • Meet or exceed KPIs to drive results, including participation in ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required. Ideally focused on Finance, Business or Real Estate, preferred 1+ years of work experience.
  • Extensive individual asset valuation skills and demonstrable expertise in estimating property value, rents, taxes HOA expenses
  • General RE knowledge, SFR or commercial, with knowledge of key players, investment strategies etc. highly beneficial
  • Construction knowledge (or experience) not required but would be a plus
  • Collaborative team player, able to successfully perform on cross functional activities
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills and strong attention to detail Project mgt skills
  • Analytical mindset, adept at critical thinking and problem solving
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Flexible and able to effectively manage ambiguity and change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to travel as required (markets buying in, visit assets acquired) - expect majority of work to be in Dallas
