Job description

Location - Onsite  
Thisis an onsite role that works at the McMinnville Creamery in McMinnville, OR. The shift/hours are Monday/Thursday 5pm - 5:30am and Tuesday/Friday 5pm - 1:30am 
Employee Type - Hourly 
Bonus - This position is eligible for a 3% annual incentive bonus based on cooperative and individual performance.

Summary of Role
The HTST Operator is responsible for operating semi-automated equipment for milk and cream pasteurization.  This role is also responsible for running the Evaporator and Dryer for power production. This is a safety sensitive role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
oOperate milk and cream HTST pasteurizer within specified requirements.
oPerform cream culturing process, as needed, to meet production requirements provided by buttermaker.
oOperate automated CIP systems to clean HTST system, Evaporator, Dryer, Lines, Tanks and Silos as needed.  Fill out and file bills of lading and certificates of analysis.
oFollow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance policies and practices.
oAssist with State Time & Seals as well as separator and press teardown.
oMaintain HTST equipment by assisting in valve seal changing as well as gasket replacement.
oMaintain proper RAW milk silo rotation.
oComplete daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly items in a complete & timely fashion.
oEnsures solids from the Evaporator are in specification with quality standards.
oConfirms moisture are in specifications of quality standards and are free of scorched particles. 
oEnsures skim and cream fats are within specification of quality standards. 
oGeneral housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing all other areas and equipment.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
oGood record keeping required.
oAssist with general plant cleaning as needed.
oOther duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
oAbility to obtain state permits to operate pasteurizer.
oMust be able to work 12 hour shift, including weekend and holiday work.
oAbility to read and comprehend standard operating procedures.
oAbility to work in fast paced environment.
oAbility to frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds with assistance.
oAbility to operate material handling equipment, and obtain certifications
oAbility to stand and walk throughout the shift.
oAbility to climb stairs up to 10 stories and work at heights with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
oAbility to interpret and understand results of official samples.  
oAbility to work safely with required sanitation and lab chemicals and follow appropriate PPE guidelines.
oEffective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings. 
oVerbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner.
oBasic math skills including arithmetic and the ability to perform and interpret basic calculations.
oAbility to bend, twist, turn, reach above shoulders and climb throughout shift as needed. 
oUnderstanding of machine operations.
oBasic computer skills are required.
oAbility to work with limited supervision.
Base hourly wage range: 22.00 per hour - 26.95 per hour.
The typical hourly wage for a new hire with little or no experience is 22.00. This position alsoreceives a 2.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 6pm and 12am, a 3.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 12am and 6am or this position receives a2.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage rangeis exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also includeincentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. Ifyou are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determinedbased on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/orexperience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity andconsider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any finaloffer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role shouldexpect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage rangeis not typical.
