Job Overview

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to support county-wide infrastructure and capital improvement projects. This role is responsible for managing engineering projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing technical expertise across departments.

The Professional Engineer will oversee design, permitting, construction, and contract administration while collaborating with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies. This position requires strong technical knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related field
  • Experience managing capital improvement or infrastructure projects from design through construction
  • Experience reviewing engineering plans, specifications, and development proposals
  • Experience with permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and inspections
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and government agencies
  • Experience preparing engineering reports, technical documents, and regulatory submittals
  • Experience with contract administration, procurement support, and project scheduling
  • Experience conducting field inspections and evaluating infrastructure conditions
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and engineering software tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
