As a Sr. Environmental Engineer, you will ensure the Refinery complies with the EPA, TCEQ, and other agency environmental rules and regulations.

At Valero, we are committed to advancing the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity and unmatched execution. You can help achieve this goal if you can:

  • Complete reports for state and federal regulatory agencies, and maintains the appropriate documentation.
  • Perform emissions inventory, green-house gas, and TRI calculations and compiles data for reporting purposes.
  • Integrate with operational complex team and periodically review monthly report that details compliance overview and highlights environmental areas of focus.
  • Review requirements stipulated in NSR permits as well as NSPS and MACT regulations and assesse compliance by reviewing site data and documentation.
  • Conduct monthly Plant inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate the refinery's positions effectively and clearly with regulatory agencies, corporate management, and civic organizations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and proposed environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of refinery units.
  • Possession of technical capabilities and able to perform air emissions calculations.
  • Ability to utilize various computer applications such as Microsoft Excel in order to maintain emissions inventory estimate databases.
    This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree - in Engineering or a related Science required.
  • 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's or higher-level degree - in Engineering preferred.
