Job description

Description - External
  • Provides support to the group/department by performing a variety of daily accounting clerical duties.
  • Provides administrative support to department as necessary and as required, which may include distribution of mail and preparing documents for scanning.

  • Works under close/general supervision to perform semi-routing clerical/accounting duties.

  • Verifies and enters data into Kronos time-entry system.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six months payroll experience preferred.
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • Experience in Kronos Timekeeping system preferred.
  • Experience with Timekeeping/Data Entry preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation. 
  • Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications. 
  • Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization. 
  • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements.

  • Basic skill using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel).
