Job Summary:

The Front Office Manager manages all operational activities of the Reception Center’s Front Office to provide the highest standards of courteous service while meeting and exceeding profit levels. Communicates effectively in writing and verbally to provide directions to staff. Observe performance and encourage improvement. Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and administers progressive disciplinary procedures for front office staff. Ensure that the Vail Resorts brand standards are met. Interact positively with guests and take action to resolve guest issues in order to protect guest experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of guest service and operational excellence in alignment with Vail Resort’s Brand Standards and executive direction.
  • Provide daily leadership, support, and operational oversight of the Front Office team.  
  • Oversee Front Office operations to ensure efficient workflow, exceptional guest experience, and adherence to departmental procedures. 
  • Coordinate, lead, and/or contribute to required meetings to required meetings, including departmental and operational meetings.
  • Set and uphold professional standards for the team through accountability, coaching, and leadership presence. 
  • Analyze daily lodging financials, labor reports, and operational performance to ensure alignment with departmental budgets and staffing goals.  
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll administration and compliance with company policies. 
  • Create and manage departmental schedules based on occupancy levels, business demands, and labor expectations. 
  • Communicate effectively and escalate operational or guest concerns to upper management in a timely manner.  
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest issues, implementing corrective action to ensure guest satisfaction and service recovery.  
  • Support emergency response and security procedures in accordance with company policies and established emergency plans.  
  • Foster effective communication between Executive Committee members, department leaders, and line-level team members.  
  • Assist with additional operational responsibilities and special projects as assigned by upper management.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Front Office, guest service, or hospitality leadership experience at a property of similar size and service level — Required   
  • Previous supervisory or management experience within hospitality operations — Required
  • Experience working within short-term rental or resort lodging environments — Preferred
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License with clean driving record and ability to pass a Vail Resorts Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check — Required  
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds — Required
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time — Required
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings based on business needs — Required  
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills — Required 
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment —Required

The expected pay range is $68,000.00 - $77,126.78 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
