Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry position requiring cardiac nursing experience and willingness to precept new staff.

Details
  • 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit within a stepdown intermediate care setting
  • Cares for patients with significant cardiac disease including chest pain, CHF, advanced heart failure, and syncope
  • Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization
  • Handles specialized cardiac procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
  • Unit may overflow to general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
  • Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
  • First priority for floating to one of five acute care med/surg units typically staffed at 5:1 ratios
  • 13-week assignment
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Cardiac telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Willingness to precept and train new hires, including RN Residents

  • Position supports staffing stabilization efforts as the unit rebuilds with new core staff
  • Candidates should demonstrate high engagement and a willingness to mentor incoming team members
  • COVID vaccination is not required for this position
  • Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
  • Travelers are encouraged to discuss extension opportunities with their manager approximately 45 days before assignment end date
