Job description

Company Overview

Vaaraway is a modern vacation rental management and marketing company built to help property owners increase bookings, improve guest communication, and grow rental revenue through a more flexible and performance-driven approach. We support owners and lodging partners with professional listing strategy, dynamic pricing, multi-channel marketing, guest sales support, reservation management, and performance reporting, giving them access to a stronger sales and revenue platform while allowing them to keep the local teams and personal hospitality style that make their properties unique.

Working at Vaaraway is an opportunity to be part of a growing brand in the luxury vacation rental space where sales, hospitality, technology, and guest experience all come together. Our team is building a smarter, more scalable way to support owners and serve guests across exciting vacation markets, including coastal destinations, boutique lodging communities, and international growth opportunities. This is a great role for someone who enjoys a fast-moving environment, wants to make a direct impact on revenue and guest satisfaction, and is excited to help shape the systems, service standards, and sales strategies of an emerging hospitality brand.

Position Summary

The Assistant House Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by helping ensure every Vaaraway vacation home is guest-ready, well-maintained, and consistently meets our high standards. Working alongside an experienced House Manager, you'll support the day-to-day operations of our vacation rental portfolio through property inspections, vendor coordination, inventory management, and guest support.

This is a hands-on, field-based position that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to solve problems proactively. If you enjoy working independently, take pride in maintaining beautiful homes, and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing with a company that values accountability, teamwork, and exceptional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed property inspections before guest arrivals and after departures.

  • Ensure homes consistently meet Vaaraway's quality standards.

  • Identify and document housekeeping, maintenance, and inventory concerns.

  • Create and manage work orders when needed.

  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers.

  • Assist with guest requests and help deliver exceptional guest experiences.

  • Support new property onboarding and owner readiness tasks.

  • Provide coverage for the House Manager during vacations, days off, and busy periods.

  • Assist with additional properties as our portfolio expands.

Required Qualifications
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Friendly, professional, and dependable.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Comfortable using smartphones and technology for inspections, communication, and task management.

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation & ScheduleAnnual Salary$20,000 - $25,000

This is a part-time, commission-based position. Rather than being paid hourly, Assistant House Managers earn compensation based on the reservation revenue of the properties they support, similar to our House Manager compensation model. As occupancy and your portfolio of assigned homes grow, so does your earning potential.

Current earning potential is approximately up to $25,000 annually, depending on property assignments, reservation volume, and seasonal occupancy. As Vaaraway continues to grow, there will be opportunities to take on additional properties, increase earnings, and grow within the company.

Schedule
  • 2 to 3x per week, every other weekend, & as needed.
