As an Area Dispatcher, you will be tasked with organizing the daily dispatch of service technicians for a metro area in a safe and timely manner. You will work closely with Service Managers and Inside Sales Reps to ensure repairs are properly scheduled and executed to guarantee superior customer service. Without you, our customers cannot meet their operational needs, and that's why we seek a professional with integrity who respects and understand the demands of the job.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee dispatch of field service technicians within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness

  • Monitor technician progress and adjust schedules as requests come in

  • Optimize use of overtime to deliver superior customer service

  • As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or service repair time

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication

  • Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

  • Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations

  • Diligent attention to safety

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong leadership, organization and communication skills

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
