LOCUM Cardiovascular APP *132365: Central, Illinois
Practice:
  • Boards: Must be certified NCCPA or ACNP
  • Certs: ACLS, BLS
  • License: IL Active Only
  • Experience: 1 year minimum
  • Creds: 60 days
  • Temps: Yes

Coverage:
  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Type: Scheduled shifts, no call
  • Setting: Inpatient CV ICU
  • Schedule: 6:30 am - 7 pm

Additional Information:
  • APP is expected to manage ventilators, vasopressors/ inotropes, medications, arrhythmias, VV/ VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, post-transplant, VAD, as well as medical management as needed. Ideally is able to complete central line insertion, art line insertion, chest tube insertion/removal, and intubations as well as manage pacing wires, sternotomy sites, and EVH sites independently and safely.
  • APP is expected to safely and effectively manage a robust cardiac post-operative ICU. They will be responsible for a census of 8+ patients. Expectations include rounding with the surgeon and charge RNs daily, frequent rounding with nursing staff, and remaining available to answer nursing questions. Will need to be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Procedures-Central line insertion/ removal, art line insertion/ removal, intubations, extubations, chest tube insertion (optional), chest tube removal, pacing wire management, including removal.
  • Will work independently, but will sometimes be staffed with an additional APP to split the work.
  • Will round and work closely with 3 CV ICU surgeons
