Position Overview:
The Inventory Specialist for Expendable Assets is responsible for managing accountabilities for all expendable materials, ensuring compliance with VA policies and federal property management regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control an assigned class of expendable materials, ensuring accountability and compliance with VA policies and federal regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on expendable commodity management, providing guidance and support across all services and service lines.
  • Coordinate the resolution of logistics problems and serve as the central point of contact for new expendable supply procedures.
  • Analyze data related to demand history, program requirements, and current stock levels to inform inventory management decisions.
  • Utilize well-established inventory principles and methodologies to intervene in the supply system based on fluctuations in usage rates, costs, and availability.
  • Engage proactively with customers to recommend product changes, substitutions, and additions to enhance supply efficiency and economy.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives to support major and minor projects, ensuring that supply needs are met while considering cost and compliance variables.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of inventory, ensuring accuracy and accountability for all expendable materials within the facility.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in inventory management or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with VA policies and federal regulations.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test. This position is also subject to the company's random drug testing policy.
In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
