Our organization is on the lookout for a full-time Board-Certified Radiologist to take on the role of Chief of Radiology at our facility in Aurora, Colorado.

In this position, you will play a vital role in enhancing quality care standards and fostering the growth of our VA academic hospital program.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, effective communicator, and collaborative team member, capable of adapting to the dynamic environment of a large, established medical center.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing a diverse group of radiology healthcare professionals and support staff, which encompasses physicians, technologists, nurses, and administrative personnel.

You will also be involved in the planning, development, and management of various imaging operations, including general radiology, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. This includes fiscal management, budgeting, operational oversight, and compliance.

In your clinical capacity, you will serve as a diagnostic radiologist, interpreting a range of radiology studies conducted by the Radiology Service, such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, General Radiology, and Fluoroscopy. You may also provide services in additional clinical areas where you have received training or privileges, such as breast imaging or interventional radiology.

Support for academic partnerships is essential, as you will be involved in training technologists, radiologic assistants, medical students, residents, and other educational programs associated with the Imaging Service. Your role will include providing clinical experience and fostering cognitive development through effective teaching methods.

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

• Salary: Up to $400,000 annually.
• Recruitment Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.

• Education Debt Reduction Program: Eligible for student loan repayment assistance. Specific eligibility criteria must be met, and applications should be submitted within four months of appointment. Award amounts can reach up to $200,000, with eligibility periods ranging from one to five years.
• Paid Time Off: 50 to 55 days of annual leave, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME.
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

• CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year.
• Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage included.
• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

• At least three years of leadership experience in imaging.
• Specialization in Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, Musculoskeletal Imaging, or Mammography.
• A minimum of three years of experience in your area of specialized imaging expertise.

• Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution.
• Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, with the requirement to maintain an active and unrestricted status.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory; non-citizens may only be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
