Job description

RELYANT Global, LLC is currently seeking experienced UXO Tech II's for multipleย openings for a large project in Kwajalein Atoll. This opportunity is roughly 1-year in length. ย  Work will commence in fall of 2026.ย UXO Technicians are responsible for performing munitions response actions and range clearance activities. Responsibilities/Duties and Qualifications are in accordance with the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB).

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Conduct visual and/or detector-aided UXO and discarded military munitions
  • Locate subsurface UXO and DMM by operating geophysical detection instruments.
  • Perform field maintenance and calibration checks on geophysical detection instruments.
  • Remove non-hazardous munitions debris and range-related debris
  • Perform site/area security functions.
  • Reconnoiter and classify UXO and DMM.
  • Identify all types of military munitions
  • Excavate subsurface UXO and DMM.
  • Move and/or consolidate UXO and DMM that has been determined acceptable for movement
  • Transport demolition materials and/or UXO and DMM that have been determined safe for transport over public traffic routes, when required.
  • Prepare firing systems, both electric and non-electric, for demilitarization operations.
  • Operate personnel decontamination stations.
  • Assist in the inspection of Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) for the presence of explosive hazards.
  • Construct UXO-related protective works
  • Properly store explosive materials per applicable guidance.
  • Determine precise location in field environment using a variety of techniques such as use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using topographical map and compass.
  • Perform field collection to identify contaminated soil
  • Prepare an on-site holding area to temporarily stow MEC
  • Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO
  • Perform limited technical supervision of UXOSP.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Graduate of a formal training course of instruction or EOD certification.
  • 3 years of EOD/UXO experience in response munitions, response actions or range clearance activities
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • Must be able to pass a physical - suit and respirator will be required for work performed
  • Must have 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • Must have current 8 Hour annual HAZWOPER Refresher (if applicable)
  • Proficient with current metal detectors.
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Divers conducting underwater detection and identification of munitions must have completed both the basic and the underwater portions of NAVSCOLEOD (or foreign equivalent) training.
