Job description

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a UI/UX Engineer to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for designing and improving user interfaces and user experiences for mission-critical transportation and logistics applications.
The UI/UX Engineer will work closely with developers, stakeholders, and end users to create intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly interfaces. This role bridges the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that IBS applications are both functional and easy to use.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, experience working with modern web applications, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile development environment.


  • Design and develop user interface (UI) concepts, layouts, and workflows for IBS applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and users to gather user requirements and usability feedback
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to support application design and enhancements
  • Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of UI/UX designs (Angular-based applications)
  • Improve usability, accessibility, and user experience across system components
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback into design improvements
  • Ensure consistency in design standards, styles, and user interactions across applications
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive user workflows and interfaces
  • Support front-end development efforts where applicable (HTML, CSS, Angular)
  • Maintain and contribute to UI/UX documentation, style guides, and design systems
  • Collaborate with QA and development teams to validate UI functionality and user experience
  • Support continuous improvement of user workflows and system usability

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, front-end development, or related field
  • Experience designing web-based applications and user interfaces
  • Proficiency with UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, and modern web technologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to translate user needs into practical design solutions

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting DoD or USTRANSCOM systems
  • Experience with Angular or similar front-end frameworks
  • Familiarity with responsive design and accessibility best practices (e.g., Section 508)
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Basic understanding of Java-based backend systems
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing
