Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Job Title:  APP Certified Nurse Midwife: Senior Instructor - Assistant Professor

Job Summary:

The Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an opening for a 1.0 full-time faculty at the rank of Senior Instructor or Assistant Professor for a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to provide outpatient clinical care in obstetrics and gynecology as a member of the University's Women Care (UWC) practice. Outpatient duties include primarily obstetric care, annual visits, and benign gynecologic care including contraception. This job involves the education of residents, advanced practice providers, and/or medical students. There is a potential for inpatient work although emphasis will initially be on ambulatory practice.

Job Responsibilities:

Successful candidates must demonstrate competency obtaining patient histories, physical examination, and the assessment and development of appropriate plans of care in the Ob-Gyn clinical setting. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, with primary care providers, specialists, and team members to meet the comprehensive needs of patients. 

Specific duties/skills include, but are not limited to:

         Provide comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care to low and high-risk patients as part of a collaborative team.

         Provide general gynecological care to women in the outpatient setting including well woman care, contraceptive/family planning, and problem focused gyn care.

         Provide gyn office procedures including IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/removal, and endometrial and vulvar biopsies.

         Facilitate patient access to our outpatient network of care.

         Participate in departmental meetings and committees.

         Participate in research, as desired.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in the greater Aurora area, Colorado.

Minimum Qualifications:

Senior Instructor

         Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery

         Active AMCB certification

         Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado

         Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado

         Prescriptive authority required.

         Must have Colorado licensures registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies by date of hire.  

         Five (5) or more years clinical experience in full-scope practice as an CNM in Obstetrical/Gynecological care

         Demonstrates meritorious achievements in several of the following areas:  teaching, clinical activity, research, service, and scholarship

Assistant Professor

         DNP/PhD or equivalent experience

         Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery

         Active AMCB certification

         Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado

         Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado

         Prescriptive authority required.

         Must have Colorado licensures registered with DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) by date of hire.

         Seven (7) or more years clinical experience in practice as a CNM in Obstetrical/Gynecological care

         Demonstrates meritorious or excellent achievements in several of the following areas:  teaching, clinical activity, research, service, and scholarship

         Experience as a clinical educator

         Utilize limited obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound skills

Preferred Qualifications:

         Experience as a clinical educator

         Utilize limited obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound skills

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Senior Instructor: Starting at $115,794

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
