Rogers Group is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Heavy Equipment Operator for our Red Bay Quarry in Red Bay, AL, part of the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Job Details:
  • Wages dependent on verifiable experience
  • 2nd Shift (3:00PM-12:00AM)
  • $3.00 night shift differential
  • Fulltime/Permanent
  • Weekend work may be required
  • Overtime available along with medical and retirement benefits

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment (Skid Steer, Wheel Loader, Dozer and/or Excavator) and machinery.
  • 1 - 2yrs Experience as a Wheel Loader Operator highly preferred
  • Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
  • Perform plant ground operations/maintenance as needed
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
  • 1+ years of experience operating wheel loader is preferred
  • Previous quarry experience is preferred
  • Ability to perform safety and maintenance inspections throughout the day
  • Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge
  • Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred
  • Ability to understand basic safety and work instruction
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills
  • Welding experience is helpful along with general maintenance and repair abilities
  • Experience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not required
  • Team player mentality
  • Working outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and cold
