Responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of airport underground utilities systems. This position assists with snow removal operations on varying shifts, based on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Perform or manage maintenance and repair of airport utilities systems to include:
    • Electric/Data
    • Water
    • Gas
    • Storm
    • Sanitary
    • Irrigation
  • Project review for new utility systems on an as needed basis.
  • Install temporary meters for construction use.
  • Plan and perform utility locates.
  • Performs servicing and testing of plumbing equipment.
  • Performs or manages water main, fire hydrant and other water system repair.
  • Perform monthly generator testing, manage annual load bank testing process.
  • Perform meter reading for gas, water and electric in tenant and leased spaces.
  • Operates gasoline and diesel-powered trucks and light pieces of equipment such as backhoes, tractors, runway brooms, tractor mowers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and snowplows.
  • On-call 24/7 to respond to system problems.
  • Complete work orders and record time/material utilized.
  • Performs on-call duties, specific position assignments will vary based on department needs.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Years of Direct Experience: 5, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS

Required

  • Valid driver's license
  • Journeyman Trade Plumber or Electrical License
  • Cross Connection and Control Testers license
  • Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA)
  • Valid commercial driverโ€™s license (or ability to acquire Class A CDL within 6 months of hire date)

Additional Security Levels Required (Customs or Police Department) - Yes

Airfield Driving - This position requires driving on the airfield area.

DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE OF
  • Testing and repair of cross connection devices.
  • Wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Test and repair of water meters.
  • OSHA Standards, Airfield and FAA Regulations.
  • Electrical Safe Work Practices.
DEMONSTRATED SKILL IN
  • Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
