Job description

Job Summary

Promote workplace safety by applying knowledge and industry processes, health and safety laws, as well a enforcing regulations such as OSHA. The Safety Manager will ensure that we have a safe, compliant, and hazard-free job sites by implementing safety programs, training employees, and creating procedures to build a safety culture in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build a safety training program that will serve as an educational tool for all company employees.
  • Maintain the company Safety Manual and sitespecific safety plans (SSSPs).
  • Proactively identify onsite hazards, analyze risk, and develop solutions to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations such as OSHA.
  • Perform daily onsite inspections and site audits to verify that safety procedures are being followed.
  • Investigate accidents or near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective actions. Develop and communicate proper procedures to report all incidents.
  • Promote and Safety First culture by encouraging safe work practices across all levels of staff.
  • Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and inspections.
  • Verify compliance with excavation, trenching, confined space, and heavy equipment standards.
  • Ensure proper implementation of traffic control, erosion control, and utility safety practices.
  • Work with Superintendents to correct unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Manage OSHA reporting, logs (300/300A/301), and insurance documentation.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Required Experience/Qualifications
  • This positions required 6+ years of experience in the Construction industry
  • A Bachelors degree in Occupational Health or Construction Manager could be used in lieu of years of experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Deep understanding of health and safety guidelines
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Preferably Bilingual (Spanish/English)
