Job Description:
This position combines estimating and project management responsibilities, including preparing bids through plan and specification review, coordinating contracts and bid requirements, assisting with project budgeting, and managing the planning and execution of construction projects.
This position may be based in Fort Collins, CO or Cheyenne, WY.
Main Responsibilities:

Project Management:
โข Oversee project planning and coordination, including resource allocation, scheduling, utility locates, material delivery, and traffic control requirements
โข Lead communication and coordination with project personnel, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
โข Prepare, maintain, and manage all project documentation such as schedules, subcontracts, purchase orders, and material orders
โข Oversee material delivery, utility locates, traffic control requirements, and compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and all safety/environmental regulations
โข Conduct project meetings and provide ongoing project updates to management
โข Monitor project costs and identify trends that support costโreduction and processโimprovement efforts
โข Assist with determining equipment needs, sequencing operations, and staffing requirements
โข Support development and performance management of assigned employees through training, mentoring, and coaching
โข Safely operate company vehicles/equipment and perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Estimating:
โข Prepare detailed project cost estimates using bid software, including quantity takeoffs and analysis of production rates, phasing, and haul routes
โข Review and interpret plans, proposals, preliminary drawings, and specifications to support accurate estimating
โข Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes
โข Conduct site visits to collect information related to utilities, services, and project conditions
โข Prepare bid forms, projectโcost summaries, and related contract documentation
โข Maintain estimating documentation, including subcontracts, purchase orders, and schedules
โข Identify cost trends to support management in costโreduction and processโimprovement initiatives
Education:
โข Bachelorโs degree in construction management, civil engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
โข Valid Driverโs License and clean driving history required
Skills:
โข 3+ years of progressive experience in construction operations, project management/estimating or related role preferred
โข Background in heavy highway, municipal, and/or commercial construction preferred
โข HCSS, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and/or similar program experience preferred
โข Proficiency in use of computers and mobile devices, including MS Office programs required
Physical Requirements:
โข Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required
โข Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance to handle documents, equipment, and materials needed to support office and field related operations
โข Regularly uses hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects, write, and operate a keyboard and/or mobile device to complete administrative tasks, documentation, and communication duties
โข Regularly communicates (talks and hears) and uses visual acuity to exchange information, coordinate work, and review documents and plans necessary for project oversight
โข Regularly operates a vehicle to travel to and from work sites to perform inspections, attend meetings, and support project activities
โข Regularly sits for long periods at a desk using a computer to perform administrative, planning, and reporting responsibilities
โข Frequently stands or works on feet for extended periods and walks across uneven terrain to navigate construction sites safely
โข Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks
โข Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs
โข Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation*: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 DOE
*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individualโs qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
