Overview
TRC Companies is seeking an expirienced Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects across transportation, rail, utilities, and municipal markets. This role partners closely with Project Managers and technical teams to coordinate multi-disciplinary deliverables.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who can independently manage significant portions of project scope, contribute to client coordination, and drive quality execution.
Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned technical scope for civil infrastructure projects from design through construction completion
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Support project scope, schedule, and task-level budget management under Project Manager direction
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and utility disciplines
  • Support rail yard and industrial site development assignments depending on project needs
  • Participate in field investigations, construction support, and client meetings as required
  • Conduct technical quality reviews to ensure compliance with applicable standards and client requirements
  • Support proposals, technical studies, cost development, and change documentation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, and technical reports
  • Demonstrated experience managing design and/or construction-phase services
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure project delivery and project controls
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with transportation, rail, utilities, or municipal clients
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams and multiple concurrent projects
  • Construction-phase support experience preferred

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
