Description:

Velocity Network, Northwest Pennsylvania’s leading technology services firm, is currently searching for a Fiber Optics Installer and Service Technician to join our growing team.


The Permit Coordinator is responsible for listing aerial and underground permits necessary to construct fiber optic cable. This role works closely with the ISP/OSP Fiber Optic Designer and Technicians to understand the fiber routes and permits required.


Other responsibilities include:

• Preparing and coordinating necessary permit applications, fees, and signatures required for submittal

• Monitoring status of permit applications through the various stages of the approval process and utility applications

• Managing utility applications and filing requirements

• Maintaining a database of critical utility contacts

• Processing One Touch Make Ready (OTMR) permits

• Processing standard aerial attachment permit proposals

• Monitoring permit proposals status for past, current and future fiber optic builds

• Monitoring pole transfer / pole replacement permit proposals to adjust fiber optic cables

• Submitting Right-of-Way permit proposals drawings and fees for local municipalities

• Traveling onsite to inspect physical pole status to verify permit proposals status

• Communicating and coordinating with various internal and external project team members to move applications forward and update plans based on review comments.

• Maintaining organized filing/document management process for electronic and paper documents.


The qualified candidate must have a valid driver’s license, attention to detail and good organizational skills, proficient computer skills including experience in MS Office products, experience in creating and editing PDF documents, and the ability to work independently.
