Employment Type: Full Time Permanent (12 Hour Continental Shift)

Division: P&H Milling

Location: Halifax, NS

Wage: $31.69 (After Probationary Period)

The Role

We are seeking a Utility Operator to join our P&H Milling team. This role is responsible for executing daily and weekly sanitation tasks around the facility, receiving wheat and performing quality tests as well as assisting with daily operations of the mill as needed.

Day to Day
  • Perform daily cleaning as required by the Master Cleaning Schedule,
  • Maintain cleanliness of mill exterior, including the shorts loading area,
  • Maintain Inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals,
  • Assist with the management and monitoring of the Integrated Pest Management
  • Inspect and perform required testing of all wheat to ensure specifications are met,
  • Complete all wheat receiving reports, weigh scale tickets and inspection sheets,
  • Record daily wheat receiving information into ERP system,
  • Report any food safety, product quality and/or food security incidents to the QA Department,
  • Ensure HACCP, GMP and Company policies and procedures are followed,
  • Ensure that all injuries, hazards and near misses are reported.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Previous experience in food production or manufacturing is an asset.
  • Shipping/Receiving experience an asset.
  • Ability to work 12-hour continental shifts
  • Competent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude
