Job description

We're currently hiring for a Full Time Utility Meter Reader to cover the Huntsville, AL area! NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

All of our field staff are provided with:

  • Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
  • Handheld device
  • Company vehicle
  • Comprehensive Benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401K, Life insurance and short term Disability
  • Paid Training, and after the initial classroom training and field training employees will be transitioned to being paid on a piece work basis!

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for reading water meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license (Must be able to present a physical Driver's License card, other documentation is not accepted)
  • Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule

Working Conditions and Hours:

  • Outdoor work environment
  • Normal working hours are 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
  • Successfully pass MeterPro
  • Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
