Job Description
J+M Infrastructure is a Utilities, Site & Civil Contractor, who excels in Civil Construction and Site Development Contracting, with an emphasis on Utilities, and Excavation We assist with new construction projects by performing demolition, clearing, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete work, water mains, sewer, storm drainage, power & communication duct banks throughout central and southwest Virginia.
We are focused on building a team of dynamic, motivated individuals who are more than just employees but valued and respected players. People are our priority! We are currently seeking a Construction Estimator.
General Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
• 6 years of experience, preferably in Virginia
• Must be able to complete a bid from initial bid documents & site visit to final proposal letter and or government bid forms.
• Must be a motivated self-starter
• Ability to work independently with little/no assistance
• Perform Material & Qty Take-offs
• Solicit and evaluate Subcontractor and Vendor Quotes
• Create schedules with manpower & equipment requirements
• Must be able to read Plans & Specifications
• Experience in compiling all costs for a complete estimate
• Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications to keep updated information on past performance and industry standards
• Excellent Customer Interaction skills
• Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
• Project Management experience is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must pass drug test/screening
• Excellent in Excel
• Strong Computer skills a Must
• Dirt take off experience
• Utility estimating experience
May work remotely
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Additional Requirements:
• Must be a strong and effective Leader, who leads by example
• Must possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license required
• Must pass drug test/screening
• Concrete experience preferred

Schedule
