Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Development & Strategy: Lead the preparation of full-scale project bids, ensuring all estimates are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with company profit goals.
  • Plan & Specification Analysis: Conduct deep-dive reviews of construction documents to define project scope, identify potential "blind spots," and determine precise pricing.
  • Advanced Earthwork Modeling: Utilize Agtek software to perform accurate quantity take-offs, site modeling, and dirt moving analysis.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Proactively source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers; use creativity to secure the best market pricing without sacrificing quality.
  • Risk Mitigation: Analyze project risks during the bid phase and develop cost-effective solutions or contingencies to protect project margins.
  • Cost Data Maintenance: Continuously update and refine pricing schedules and standard cost databases to reflect current market fluctuations.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a key point of contact for prospective and current clients, maintaining a professional presence that secures future opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure a seamless handoff from the winning bid to the start of construction.



Qualifications

  • Software Proficiency: Agtek experience preferred but willing to train and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex civil engineering plans, topographic maps, and geotechnical reports.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
    • Note: We will consider training motivated recent graduates with relevant degrees.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple bid deadlines simultaneously.
