POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this job position is to be responsible for the general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Head Cook, Team Leader, and/or Director of Dining Service, to assure that quality service is provided at all times. A Utility Worker assists in receiving all vendor deliveries, checks in, unpacks and stores
products. The Utility Worker supports the Dining Services department's mission of delivering quality
service.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Support mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision
  2. Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots and pans, food carts, and food preparation equipment (including ovens and ranges)
  3. Empty kitchen garbage/trash and sanitize containers as needed
  4. Check in, unpack, and store dry goods, cleaning supplies, and cold stock
  5. Oversee and maintain food storage areas; when necessary, assist in cleaning of food service areas and heavy equipment
  6. Pull frozen meats to be used on following days and return unused items to freezer
  7. Sweep and mop kitchen floors. Maintain cleanliness of all walls in kitchen and serving areas. Maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness
  8. Assist with buffet set up and special functions
  9. Demonstrate positive Resident relations and facility's quality care and service standards to
    Residents, families, and guests. Maintain positive, cheerful attitude at all times
  10. Follow sanitation guidelines
  11. Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of the Discover Your Spark Lifestyle and Wellness philosophy and its inherent core values. Support and participate in Discover Your Spark (e.g. assist with feedback groups, assist in new initiatives, encourage Residents and act as champions of fun)
  12. Comply with all sanitation, serve safe and safety requirements
  13. Sets up Dish machine in the morning and empty water every two hours. Polish machine before shift is over
  14. Perform other duties as assigned. Attend in-service classes and staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Prefer high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Food handler certificate preferred
  • Prefer at least 1 year of related work experience
