Job description

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days - 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours Weekly

Compensation:
  • Traveler Pay: $60-$63/hr ($2,250-$2,362/week) based on experience
  • Local Pay: $53-$56/hr ($1,987-$2,100/week) based on experience
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic sonographic examinations within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have breast imaging experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams to support accurate patient diagnosis and care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using sonographic equipment
  • Independently operate ultrasound equipment and ensure high-quality imaging results
  • Conduct breast, abdominal, and OB/GYN sonographic procedures as required
  • Obtain and review patient medical histories relevant to imaging procedures
  • Identify and differentiate between normal and pathological findings during examinations
  • Communicate diagnostic findings and observations to radiologists appropriately
  • Maintain daily operations of the sonography department including patient scheduling and workflow coordination
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and quality assurance checks
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and imaging protocols
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring patient comfort during procedures
Required Qualifications:Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program recognized by CHEA and the United States Department of Education (USDOE) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
Certifications:
  • RDMS Certification in Abdominal and OB/GYN required
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience required
  • Breast imaging experience required
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of sonographic imaging procedures and anatomy
  • Ability to use independent clinical judgment during imaging procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within healthcare teams
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care
Additional Requirements:
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
