Job Description:
SimIS is seeking contractor SME support to provide technical and analytical support to Operational Test and Evaluation Force (T&E) in the definition, conduct, and analysis of structured Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of US Navy Undersea Warfare systems. As the Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will apply current knowledge of the Navy and multi-service missions, operations, logistics, management, and organizational responsibilities to plan and organize work tasks leading to the successful execution of test planning, collecting data, and performing reconstruction and analysis for complex test and evaluation projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or data science.
  • 8+ Years of US Navy Undersea Warfare (USW) mission execution experience in USW roles such as navigation, sonar, and fire control.
  • 4+ years of system-level experience operating/maintaining/testing of USW systems.
  • 2 years (within the last 4 years) of experience in Integrated Evaluation Framework (IEF) development, Test Plan Development, Test Execution, Test Analysis and Reporting, and Modeling and Simulation supporting developmental or operational testing.
  • Current working knowledge of the Navy and multi-service missions, operations, logistics, management, and organizational responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of the DoD 5000 series, SECNAVINST 5000 series, and OPNAVINST 5000.42 series instructions (Defense Acquisition).
Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within the naval community and have a demonstrated ability to communicate the results of the operational analysis to sponsoring activities and decision makers.
  • Working knowledge of the OPTEVFOR Integrated Evaluation Framework.
  • DAWIA T&E Level I or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
