Job description

Overview
The Child Care Assistant Teacher will work with the Early Care and Education Center Teachers and Program Coordinator to instruct children at the childcare center located at USU Brigham City Regional Campus. Professional training will be required as part of this position.
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position.
Responsibilities
  • Be part of a team responsible for the general supervision of a group of children ages 0-2, 2-3, 4-5 or 6-10 years.
  • Develop and implement age appropriate lesson plans under the supervision of the lead teacher to stimulate the developmental progress, as well as provide a well-rounded day of activities for children between the ages of 0 and 10.
  • Engage children in meaningful conversations and age appropriate activities.
  • Work in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Teacher.
  • Fulfill daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
  • Attend staff meetings and staff trainings.
  • Seek professional development through Child Care Resource and Referral Career Ladder.
  • Maintain a set part-time schedule, which will include evenings. Must also be available to be on-call during open hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Have some experience working with young children.
  • Ability to write and carry out lesson plans.
  • Warm and friendly personality, as well as sensitivity to the feelings and needs of others.
  • In addition, the ability to maintain a professional attitude toward children, families, and co-workers at all times.
