Job description

Mail Delivery Driver

The purpose of this job is to ensure the seamless processing and delivery of daily mail to the USPS in a timely manner. The Driver is also responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of their dock area and mail prep area.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized dock area & truck
  • Delivery mail daily to the USPS on time

Role Description / Responsibilities

  • Maintain truck, maintenance and repair, ensure all required documentation are in the truck.
  • Ensure all PM's and inspections documents are turned in weekly
  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.
  • Prepare, stack and wrap all pallets for delivery to USPS.
  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Report trucks or any safety issues to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow current standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Make deliveries with a company vehicle as assigned.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility and truck.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma

Work Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in driving a box truck
  • 1 year is an asset but not a requirement

Key Skills / Abilities Required:

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to drive the forklift, must obtain certification
  • Ability to drive a 5 tonne truck
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and over time as required
