POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Shipping Services Manager oversees all outbound shipments from ITA Group headquarters and partners with the Receiving & Inventory Manager to coordinate Receiving, Inventory and Shipping Services (RIS²) operations. This role works with project owners to coordinate outbound shipping, manage shipping data files and software, ensure shipments meet applicable regulations and deadlines, track shipments, and bill costs back to the appropriate programs and cost centers. The position also supports logistics compliance by helping ensure shipping practices align with applicable laws, regulations and operational requirements.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a service-related, mailroom, shipping, logistics, office services or related operational environment preferred; international shipping experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing requests and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to listen, understand and respond to internal and external client needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze workflows, identify process improvement opportunities and support more efficient shipping operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping and mailroom equipment, including mail processing equipment, postage meters, scales, UPS/FedEx systems and other carrier-related software or tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of USPS, UPS, FedEx and other carrier requirements, including applicable postal, domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Ability to meet International Air Transportation Association certification requirements for shipping Lithium Metal and Lithium Ion Batteries.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Commerce import/export requirements and other applicable domestic and international shipping compliance requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods over a full shift.
  • Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
