Utility Locating Technician
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Locating Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately locating underground utility lines, including gas and electric utilities, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks. This role requires strong documentation skills, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and a commitment to construction safety priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Locate underground utility lines, specifically gas and electric utilities, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Read and interpret prints, maps, and other documentation to accurately identify utility locations.
  • Document all work completed thoroughly and accurately.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
  • Maintain an excellent driving record and operate company vehicles safely.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Adhere to construction safety priorities and protocols at all times.
  • Be available to work over 40 up to 60 hours per week, including 6 days a week and on-call shifts as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Utility Locate Technician or similar role.
  • Strong ability to locate underground gas and electric utility lines.
